This meeting is suitable for part pensioners or self-funded retirees who are in the queue for a support at home or home care package and need to understand how much they will need to contribute towards the cost of services when their package is allocated.
· Your concerns -Aged care topics and current care needs that are of immediate concern to you.
· The current Aged Care landscape- factual information is provided on living choices, Home Care
Packages and/or Residential Aged Care.
· Choosing where to live as your care needs change – care in the current home, intergenerational
living plans, a Retirement Village, supported living environment or aged care. We explain the differences between these options and what you should be aware of.
· Legal Documents you should have in place– we discuss Enduring Power of Attorney’s, guardianship, Advanced Health Care Directives, Statement of Choices. Special considerations for Dementia and when cognition is deteriorating.
· Understanding how much you will need to contribute to your package– At this meeting we provide you with an indication of what you will need to contribute to the cost of your Support at Home package based on your financial position. At the meeting we can then do a deep dive into your likely care services and give you an indication of how much this will cost you.
· Explain Centrelink – we will explain what forms you need to supply to Centrelink and how to update your financial position to ensure your aged care contribution assessment outcome is correct. We will also check your age pension entitlement to ensure it is also correct. If you need assistance filling in forms or updating your Centrelink position you may like to engage us to do this for you by using our Centrelink representative services.
· Other things you need to be aware of when considering care needs - Each aged care journey is unique, and we may cover many other related topics during this meeting that are relevant to your care consideration such as estate planning, Centrelink, future aged care admission if your care needs increase. We explain what else you need to be aware of.
The cost of this meeting is $990, including GST.
Please note we do not provide financial, tax or legal advice. Meetings can be in our office at Carrara on the Gold Coast, via Zoom, or offsite.
Offsite visits to your home or hospital incur an additional charge to cover our time and inability to schedule other meetings in the office. Off site charges within the Gold Coast Council area are an additional $330.
